Skipper Targets 60% Production Capacity Expansion by FY28
Skipper, one of India’s leading manufacturers of power transmission towers, has unveiled plans to expand its production capacity by about 60 per cent by FY28, a move that would position the company as the world’s largest player in terms of installed capacity, ahead of major Chinese competitors.
The Kolkata-based company is also targeting a sharp rise in exports, aiming to double overseas shipments to around 50 per cent of its total revenue over the next three to four years. This growth is being driven by the company’s expansion into export-focused segments and a strengthening of its product portfolio, including monopoles, transmission towers and substation structures.
“Our current production capacity stands at around 375,000 tonnes per annum. We are planning to increase it to 450,000 tonnes per annum by FY28. In the current financial year, we will be carrying out brownfield expansions of our existing plants. From FY27 onwards, we might do greenfield projects,” said Sharan Bansal, Director, Skipper Ltd, in an interaction with businessline.
