Chennai: Sumadhura Group has announced plans to develop a Grade-A industrial and logistics park at Red Hills in North Chennai, with an estimated investment of approximately ₹400 crore.
The proposed project will be developed across 52 acres and will provide nearly 1.2 million square feet of modern warehousing space. It will primarily offer built-to-suit facilities designed according to the operational requirements of individual businesses.
The park’s proximity to the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road is expected to provide convenient access to important transportation networks. This strategic location could make the development attractive to companies operating in sectors such as manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, distribution and third-party logistics.
Grade-A logistics parks generally provide professionally managed facilities with modern infrastructure, improved safety systems and efficient cargo-handling capabilities. Such facilities can help businesses streamline their supply chains, reduce transportation delays and manage growing distribution requirements.
The planned development reflects the increasing demand for organised industrial and warehousing facilities in and around Chennai. The city’s manufacturing base, port connectivity and expanding road infrastructure have strengthened its position as an important logistics centre in southern India.
Once completed, the Red Hills project is expected to expand North Chennai’s warehousing capacity and support the region’s wider industrial and logistics ecosystem.
