Transformers & Rectifiers Announces ₹1,250 Crore Investment in Three Greenfield Manufacturing Plants in Gujarat
Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) has announced an investment of ₹1,250 crore to establish three greenfield manufacturing plants at its Chiyada complex in Gujarat, strengthening India's power equipment manufacturing ecosystem.
The facilities will manufacture high-voltage transformer bushings, pressboard and insulation materials, and continuously transposed conductors (CTC). The bushing plant will produce oil-impregnated paper, resin-impregnated paper and resin-impregnated fibre bushings rated up to 800 kV.
Construction commenced in December 2025, with commercial operations expected during the first quarter of FY2027-28.
The plants will operate under TARIL's wholly owned ancillary subsidiary, supporting greater control over manufacturing quality, procurement and supply chains.
Once operational, the facilities are expected to generate approximately ₹2,000 crore in annual revenue and create more than 1,000 direct jobs.
The investment aims to reduce import dependence, strengthen domestic transformer component manufacturing and support India's expanding power transmission infrastructure and renewable energy integration requirements nationwide.
