First LNG Deal: HPCL Secures Supply from ADNOC Trading.
State-owned Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) announced recently the signing of a significant LNG Trading supply agreement with ADNOC Trading, a prominent global trader of crude oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and various other petroleum products.
HPCL, a leading oil marketing company (OMC), emphasized that this agreement represents a crucial step in strengthening the strategic collaboration between the two organizations. The partnership is geared towards enhancing energy security and promoting sustainability within the region.
Under the terms of the agreement, the LNG supplies will be received at the newly commissioned Chhara LNG Terminal, operated by HPCL LNG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HPCL. This strategic infrastructure will serve to meet the captive demand of HPCL and will also facilitate the marketing of LNG to other downstream customers across India. This deal signifies HPCL's commitment to diversifying its LNG sourcing and leveraging international partnerships to cater to the growing energy needs of the nation.
