Indo Asia Copper to Set Up ₹3,546 Crore Copper Foil Manufacturing Facility in Gujarat

Indo Asia Copper Limited, a subsidiary of Kiri Industries, has secured government approval to establish a ₹3,546 crore copper foil manufacturing facility in Amreli, Gujarat. The project was approved on 6 November 2026 under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS).

The proposed facility will manufacture high-quality copper foil used in lithium-ion battery cells, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and other electronic applications. The investment is expected to strengthen India's domestic electronics supply chain, reduce dependence on imported materials, and support the expanding electric vehicle and energy storage industries.

The project represents the largest investment among 12 newly approved ECMS proposals involving combined investments of ₹7,503 crore. It also marks an important step towards developing indigenous manufacturing capabilities for critical electronic materials.

The facility is expected to create opportunities for equipment suppliers, engineering contractors, technology providers, and supporting industries during its implementation and subsequent operations.
