JSW Energy commissions unit-1 of Ind-Barath Thermal Power Plant; stock down
JSW Energy Ltd has successfully commissioned unit-1, with a capacity of 350 MW, at the Ind-Barath 700 MW (2 x 350 MW) thermal power plant located in Odisha. The milestone was announced through a filing on the stock exchange, signaling a significant advancement in the company's power generation capabilities.
According to the disclosure, JSW Energy has outlined an ambitious vision for the future, aiming to achieve a generation capacity of 20 GW and an energy storage capacity of 40 GWh by the year 2030. The company emphasized its strong position with a current locked-in capacity of 9.8 GW, asserting its confidence in reaching the near-term target of 10 GW by 2025.
Furthermore, JSW Energy has strategically secured 3.4 GWh of energy storage capacity through a combination of battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects. This move aligns with the company's commitment to sustainable practices, as it sets a target for a 50 percent reduction in its carbon footprint by 2030.
