Dilip Buildcon Emerges L1 Bidder for ₹1,265 Crore Solapur–Paranda Transmission Project

Dilip Buildcon Limited has emerged as the L1 bidder for a major power transmission project involving 400-kV GIS infrastructure in the Solapur–Paranda region, with the project valued at approximately ₹1,265 crore.

The project is proposed to be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, under which the successful developer will be responsible for establishing and operating the transmission infrastructure before transferring the asset in accordance with the concession terms.

The order represents a significant opportunity for Dilip Buildcon as the infrastructure company expands its presence beyond its traditional road and highway construction business into the power transmission sector.

The proposed transmission infrastructure is expected to strengthen the electricity network in the region and facilitate efficient transfer of power. The use of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) technology can provide a compact solution for high-voltage substations, particularly where space availability and operational reliability are important considerations.

The project could also generate business opportunities for suppliers of transformers, conductors, transmission towers, switchgear, cables and other electrical equipment, alongside engineering and construction contractors.

As the L1 bidder, Dilip Buildcon has submitted the lowest financial bid; the contract remains subject to the formal award process and applicable conditions.
