Qatar Targets $61 Billion Infrastructure and Real Estate Investment Pipeline

Around $38.5 billion of infrastructure contracts expected to be awarded over the next five years

Qatar is reportedly preparing an extensive $61 billion pipeline of infrastructure and real-estate investment, creating substantial opportunities for construction companies, engineering contractors and building-material suppliers across the Gulf state.

Of the overall investment pipeline, approximately $38.5 billion worth of infrastructure projects is expected to be awarded over the next five years. The planned expenditure signals continued development activity as Qatar expands and upgrades infrastructure while supporting longer-term economic diversification and urban growth.

The investment programme is expected to generate opportunities across transport infrastructure, utilities, roads, residential and commercial developments, tourism facilities and other major construction segments.

Qatar has invested heavily in infrastructure over the past decade, particularly in connection with the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The next phase of development is increasingly focused on long-term economic priorities, improving connectivity and creating infrastructure required to support population, tourism and business growth.

The sizeable project pipeline is also expected to attract international engineering, procurement and construction contractors, alongside specialist subcontractors and equipment manufacturers.

With billions of dollars of contracts anticipated to reach the market, Qatar is set to remain an important Gulf construction market, providing new opportunities across engineering, construction, materials, machinery and project-management services over the coming five years.
