Government Approves ₹1,359 Crore Project to Four-Lane Nagaur–Bikaner Highway.
The Centre has approved a ₹1,359 crore project for the four-laning of the Nagaur–Bikaner stretch of National Highway-62 in Rajasthan, according to an official statement issued on Tuesday.
The project will be developed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model and is expected to significantly enhance connectivity in western Rajasthan while boosting economic activity across the region.
The approval follows efforts by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, under whose leadership the state is witnessing rapid expansion of its road infrastructure, the statement said.
Once completed, the upgraded four-lane highway is expected to improve connectivity between Nagaur and Bikaner, while creating new opportunities for investment and employment. It is also likely to support industrial and tourism growth by enabling smoother and safer transportation.
Chief Minister Sharma said the approval reflects the vision of the “double-engine government” and its commitment to infrastructure development in the state.
“The expansion of a modern, safe and efficient road network is being continuously prioritised in the state,” he said, adding that the project would provide fresh momentum to economic activity in Nagaur, Bikaner and adjoining areas and contribute to the goal of a ‘Viksit Rajasthan’.
