Bharat Dynamics Ltd to Establish New Manufacturing Facilities.
Bharat Dynamics Ltd is set to enhance its production capacity with the establishment of two new manufacturing facilities in Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad, Telangana, and Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The inaugurations are expected shortly, with production slated to begin in the financial year 2026-27.
The Ibrahimpatnam facility will feature eight assembly lines designed to support new weapon systems and anticipated future requirements of the Indian armed forces. It will also house specialized testing capabilities, including a rocket motor testing facility and a warhead penetration testing facility, enhancing BDL’s operational efficiency and product diversification.
Meanwhile, the Jhansi facility, located within the UP Defence Corridor, will focus on propellant manufacturing to meet growing organizational demands. The unit will also handle bulk production of Grad rockets and in-house R&D for new energetics, supporting innovation in missile technology.
These expansions align with BDL’s current order book of approximately Rs. 26,000 crore, with additional orders estimated at Rs. 15,000 crore for FY27. The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to increase capacity, improve operational efficiency, and diversify its defense product portfolio.
