Welspun Corp Announces US$115 Million Expansion of Spiral Pipe Manufacturing Capacity in the United States

India-based Welspun Corp Limited has announced an investment of up to US$115 million to expand its spiral pipe manufacturing capacity at its existing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. The expansion is aimed at strengthening the company's manufacturing capabilities to meet growing demand from the American oil and gas pipeline sector.

Approved by the company's Board of Directors on 29 October 2026, the project involves establishing an additional Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) pipe manufacturing facility, alongside debottlenecking and capacity enhancement measures.

The proposed expansion will add 225,000 tonnes per annum of production capacity, increasing Welspun Corp's existing US HSAW pipe capacity from 350,000 tonnes to 575,000 tonnes annually, representing approximately 64% growth.

The investment will be financed through internal accruals, reflecting the company's commitment to expanding its North American manufacturing footprint. The additional facility is scheduled to become operational by March 2028.

The project is supported by Welspun Corp's robust order book, sustained demand for large-diameter steel pipelines and long-term visibility of oil and gas infrastructure investments across the United States.

Once commissioned, the expanded facility is expected to strengthen Welspun's domestic supply capabilities, improve production flexibility and enhance its competitiveness in the North American energy infrastructure market.
