Bajel Projects Limited, a Bajaj Group company specializing in power transmission and distribution, has successfully completed and commissioned the 132kV Single Circuit Coventry–Waterworks, Coventry–Jimmy–Chawama Transmission Line Project for ZESCO in Lusaka, Zambia.
The project included the construction of three critical transmission lines—Coventry–Waterworks (3.5 km), Jimmy–Chawama (7.5 km), and Coventry–Jimmy (2.5 km). The new infrastructure is expected to boost grid reliability, reduce transmission losses, and support the growing power demand in Zambia’s capital, contributing to long-term energy security in the region.
Completed in a densely populated urban setting, the project overcame logistical and infrastructure challenges while ensuring minimal disruption to local communities. It was delivered with 116,642 Safe Man Hours and zero major incidents, underlining Bajel Projects’ strong focus on execution and safety.
“Delivering complex power transmission projects in challenging environments requires a deep understanding of engineering, logistics, and execution discipline,” said Rajesh Ganesh, MD and CEO of Bajel Projects. “We are proud to contribute to Zambia’s energy network with a project that emphasizes efficiency, safety, and long-term reliability.”
Bajel Projects continues to grow its international EPC presence, providing innovative and sustainable power solutions across global markets.
