Welspun Corp Announces ₹110 Crore Investment in IFBE Coating Plant in India

Welspun Corp Limited has announced an investment of up to ₹110 crore to establish an Internal Fusion Bonded Epoxy (IFBE) coating plant in India through a joint venture with Perma-Pipe Qatar.

The company's Board of Directors approved the investment on 29 October 2026, involving Welspun Special Coating Private Limited (WSCPL), in which Welspun Corp will hold a 49% equity stake, while Perma-Pipe Qatar will own the remaining 51%.

The proposed facility will provide advanced internal epoxy coating solutions for steel pipelines, protecting them against corrosion, chemical damage and deterioration. These coatings are widely used in oil and gas transportation, water transmission, slurry pipelines and industrial processing applications.

The investment will be shared between the joint venture partners according to their respective shareholdings.

The project aims to strengthen Welspun's value-added pipe manufacturing capabilities, enhance competitiveness and capture growing opportunities for corrosion-resistant coated pipelines across domestic and international infrastructure markets.
