Begumpul Namo Bharat Station: Meerut’s First Underground Transit Hub Nears Completion.
The Begumpul Namo Bharat station, Meerut’s only underground transit hub, is nearing completion and will serve both Namo Bharat and Metro services, officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) have confirmed.
Track laying for both the up and down lines is complete, and the station features an advanced signaling system to facilitate seamless transit operations. Spanning 246 meters in length and 24.5 meters in width, the station is built 22 meters underground and is designed to accommodate two different transit systems within a shared infrastructure.
To ensure passenger convenience, Begumpul station will have 20 escalators, with 13 already installed. Additionally, Namo Bharat trains will be equipped with stretchers to handle medical emergencies. Once operational, commuters will be able to travel within Meerut via Metro or connect to Ghaziabad and Delhi through Namo Bharat trains.
The station will have four dedicated entry and exit points to enhance accessibility for commuters. These include access points at Abu Lane, Soti Ganj, National Inter College, and Meerut Cantonment, ensuring seamless connectivity across different parts of the city.
