State gets funds for 5 new projects.
The Rajasthan state has been granted funds for 5 ambitious projects along the Indo-Pak border under the Bharat-Mala project. All these projects will have 1,500 km long road network in districts like Barmer, Jaisalmer, Sriganganagar, Bikaner and Hanumangarh.
The total cost of this project would be Rs. 5,000 crore. 'Detailed project report (DPR) has been ordered for this and the work will begin in next 6 months', said Union minister Gadkari, adding that this project is of high strategic importance.
Besides this, he also gave a principal nod to the Barr-Jodhpur Road, a long pending patch of 125 km linking Jodhpur to Jaipur. This will be a four-lane road and will be constructed using cement concrete.
Gadkari was in Jodhpur recently to lay the foundation stone of 139.33 km long Jodhpur Pokhran two-lane road project on NH-114 and inauguration of two projects, which included 244 km long Beawar-Pali-Pindwara four-lane project and 73 km long Jodhpur-Pali four-lane project. All will be developed by the National Highways Authority of India. Gadkari said that there was no dearth of money for road projects.
