Rs 343 Crore Allocated for Development of Charmadi Ghat NH Stretch: MP.

Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta announced that the central government has sanctioned Rs 343.7 crore for the conversion of the Charmadi Ghat section of National Highway-73 into a two-lane road. This upgrade will significantly benefit travelers and enhance connectivity between Mangaluru and Tumakuru via Mudigere. The MP confirmed that the tender process for the project has been completed and construction is set to begin soon.

The development of the Charmadi Ghat highway will not only improve transportation efficiency but also boost trade activities, particularly in the coastal region, which serves as Karnataka's commercial gateway. The upgraded road will facilitate smoother goods movement, supporting regional economic growth. Capt. Chowta expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Dakshina Kannada to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and the concerned department officials for their support in releasing the funds for this critical infrastructure project.
