Rolls-Royce Considers MRO Facility in India to Support Indian Air Force Fleet.

In a significant move aimed at strengthening its presence in the Indian defense sector, Rolls-Royce announced it is exploring the possibility of establishing a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India. This initiative is primarily intended to support the Indian Air Force's (IAF) fleet of C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft, which are powered by the company's AE2100 engines.

The exploration of an MRO facility is a direct result of the momentum generated by the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). The agreement has created a more favorable environment for collaboration and investment, paving the way for Rolls-Royce to deepen its engagement with the Indian aerospace and defense industry.

In an official statement released on Thursday, the company highlighted its commitment to accelerating its partnerships and services in India. The move is expected to not only enhance operational readiness for the IAF but also contribute to the "Make in India" initiative by creating high-tech jobs and boosting local expertise in aerospace maintenance.
