Modi's Third Term Brings Two Major Projects to Nashik, Says Godse
Sitting Shiv Sena MP Hemant Godse announced that two major infrastructure projects in Nashik—the Neo Metro and the Nashik-Pune semi-highspeed railway—are set to commence during Narendra Modi's anticipated third term as Prime Minister.
During a campaign launch on Sunday, Godse, who is seeking re-election for a third term after being nominated by Shiv Sena to contest from Nashik, dismissed any notion of anti-incumbency. He emphasized that his previous terms had seen significant development work. "Development is a never-ending chapter. Once one task is completed, there's always more to do," Godse said. "In the past decade, we attracted central government funds for public sector undertakings. This next term will focus on improving commuting infrastructure—both within the city with Neo Metro, and between districts with the Nashik-Pune railway."
The Neo Metro project, a central government pilot program, will initially connect Dwarka and Nashik Road railway stations via a double-decker flyover, part of the Bharat Mala project. According to Godse, this is unique to Nashik as central government funding for short lengths of road—typically owned by local governing bodies—is uncommon.
Regarding the Nashik-Pune semi-highspeed railway, Godse noted that a new alignment via Shirdi has been proposed, which could reduce construction costs due to less tunneling. However, he acknowledged local resistance to the new route. "We hope to start both projects once Narendra Modi is voted in for a third term as Prime Minister," he added.
Godse also highlighted his major achievements, including the extension of the elevated road from KK Wagh College to Adgaon, the wheels factory at the traction machine workshop in Nashik Road, and the Centre for Skilling and Technical Support, a joint collaboration between the state government and the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology. "These developments illustrate my commitment to bringing investment and industrial growth to Nashik," he said.
In response to the campaign efforts of his rival, MVA's Rajabhau Waje, Godse commented, "Waje has to introduce himself to people wherever he goes. I've been meeting with voters for the past decade, resolving their issues, and bringing government schemes to them." He asserted that his track record and familiarity with the constituency would secure his re-election as Nashik's MP for the third time.
