Grew Solar Plans 8 GW Ingot and Wafer Facility in Madhya Pradesh.

Grew Solar has completed the land acquisition process to set up an 8 gigawatt (GW) ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, with operations expected to begin by March 2028.

The facility will be located in Narmadapuram, where the company is already developing a separate 3 GW solar cell manufacturing unit, according to Chief Operating Officer Hardip Singh.

The expansion comes as the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has proposed bringing solar wafers and ingots under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) framework from June 1, 2028. The move would mandate domestic sourcing of these critical components for Indian solar module manufacturers, potentially boosting local supply chain investments.
