"Flybig Expands UDAN Network with New Moradabad-Lucknow Route"
Regional airline Flybig has launched a new direct flight route between Moradabad and Lucknow, marking a significant expansion of its domestic network under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme. This new route establishes Moradabad as the 12th destination in Flybig's rapidly growing network, underscoring its commitment to enhancing regional air connectivity.
The inaugural flight took off on August 10, with Uttar Pradesh Ministers Dharampal Singh and Baldev Singh Aulakh in attendance. Both officials emphasized the importance of regional air connectivity in fostering socio-economic development and boosting tourism within Uttar Pradesh.
Captain Saanjay Mandavia, CMD and Founder of Flybig, highlighted the airline's mission to make air travel more accessible and affordable for underserved and unserved airports across India. “The introduction of flights between Moradabad and Lucknow will benefit business travelers, tourists, and local residents, facilitating seamless regional connectivity,” he said.
This new service aligns with Flybig’s broader strategy to enhance connectivity between Tier II and Tier III cities. Recently, the airline also launched routes from Lucknow to Azamgarh, Aligarh, Chitrakoot, and Shravasti, further strengthening regional air travel within Uttar Pradesh.
In addition to expanding services in Uttar Pradesh, Flybig has signed a new agreement with the Airports Authority of India and the Union Territory Administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This agreement will enable Flybig to operate routes between Port Blair, Car Nicobar, and Campbell Bay, extending its reach to more remote regions.
With a fleet of three aircraft, Flybig continues to advance its mission of making air travel more accessible and convenient, contributing to the economic growth and development of the regions it serves.
