"AptarGroup Expands Manufacturing Operations in India"
AptarGroup Inc., a global leader in drug and consumer product dosing, dispensing, and protection technologies, has commenced construction on a new pharmaceutical plant in Taloja, near Mumbai. This new facility aims to support the rising demand within India’s pharmaceutical sector, according to the company’s announcement.
Sanjay Kapote, President of Aptar Pharma India and Southeast Asia, noted the company’s consistent growth over the past decade, driven by its product range, regulatory expertise, and patient-centric approach. “The Taloja plant will enhance our capacity to efficiently deliver high-quality, innovative products and reinforces our commitment to investing in pharma markets,” Kapote said, mentioning that Aptar is also exploring acquisitions within the industry.
Located next to Aptar's existing facility, which opened in 2023, the new plant will bolster the company's manufacturing footprint, enabling local production of advanced technologies like the pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) valve, breath-actuated devices, and single-dose nasal sprays.
In addition, AptarGroup stated its interest in pursuing acquisitions and partnerships with intellectual property-focused pharmaceutical packaging firms to further expand its capabilities in drug dosing, dispensing, and protection solutions.
