SRF Altech to Invest ₹600 Crore in Battery-Grade Aluminium Foil Manufacturing Facility in Madhya Pradesh

SRF Limited has announced an investment of approximately ₹600 crore to establish a battery-grade aluminium foil manufacturing facility at Jetapur, Madhya Pradesh, through its wholly owned subsidiary, SRF Altech Limited.

The company's Board of Directors approved the project on October 21, 2026, marking a significant expansion into advanced battery materials manufacturing.

The proposed facility will have an annual production capacity of approximately 12,000 metric tonnes, catering to the growing demand for aluminium foil used in lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

The investment will be implemented in two phases of ₹300 crore each. The first phase is targeted for completion by September 2028, followed by the second phase by September 2030.

The project will be financed through a combination of internal accruals and debt.

The investment is expected to strengthen India's domestic battery materials supply chain, support clean energy technologies and create opportunities for industrial equipment suppliers and engineering contractors.
