"YEIDA earmarks 20,000 sqm of land for an EV charging provider to accelerate green mobility goals."
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued a letter of intent to Neenjas Electric for the allotment of a 20,000 sq metre industrial plot in Sector 8D, Greater Noida, for setting up a mega manufacturing facility focused on electric vehicle (EV) technologies.
Neenjas Electric, which develops advanced EV charging solutions such as on-board and non-on-board chargers, IP-rated EV chargers, and AC-DC power converters, is expected to invest around ₹169 crore in the project.
YEIDA Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh said the allotment would provide a significant boost to the Centre’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and help strengthen India’s EV infrastructure. The proposed facility will act as a hub for the company’s expansion into advanced EV technologies and renewable energy storage solutions.
According to officials, the project will focus on large-scale manufacturing of onboard EV chargers and solar power banks. The company plans to develop onboard chargers customised for Indian operating conditions and manufacture solar power banks aimed at enhancing energy self-reliance among consumers.
The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities for local residents and reinforce Greater Noida’s position as an emerging global hub for green technology manufacturing.
Officials noted that the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar has further enhanced the region’s appeal as an investment destination. Proximity to an international airport is expected to reduce logistics costs and transportation time, making the area attractive for manufacturing units, export-oriented industries, warehousing, e-commerce and cold-chain businesses.
