Yamuna Vatika Inaugurated in Delhi.

Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena and Union Minister Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the much-awaited Yamuna Vatika, located along the Outer Ring Road on the western bank of the Yamuna River.

The event marked a significant milestone in the efforts to restore and rejuvenate the Yamuna floodplain. "Continuous efforts to restore and rejuvenate the Yamuna floodplain will now be blessed and guarded by the mighty divine Nandi," stated a release from Raj Niwas.

Developed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) across 494 acres, Yamuna Vatika aims to reclaim the ecological richness of the river while providing a serene green space for the residents of Delhi. The park features native trees such as Chinar and Amaltaas, along with bamboo plantations, vibrant floral gardens, riverine grasses, walking trails, and eco-friendly play areas for children.

A major attraction at the site is the 57.5-tonne Nandi statue, which stands as a sETymbol of cultural heritage and sustainable development. The statue, along with the park's rich flora, is expected to enhance the area's appeal as a peaceful, sustainable recreational space for visitors.
