"WABAG Lands Maintenance Deal for Al Duqm Desalination Plant"

VA TECH WABAG Ltd. witnessed a 2.26% rise in its shares following the announcement of securing a lucrative order valued at approximately ₹80 crore from Nama Water Services in Oman. The contract entails the operation and maintenance (O&M) responsibilities for the renowned Al Duqm Desalination Plant spanning a duration of five years.

Originally constructed by VA TECH WABAG Ltd. over a decade ago, the Al Duqm Desalination Plant boasts a formidable capacity of 8 million liters per day (MLD). Under the terms of the new agreement, the company will oversee the management of the plant's seawater intake and outfall systems, ensuring seamless operations. The desalinated water produced will cater to the domestic requirements of the Duqm and Haima regions within the Al Wusta Governorate.

Expressing the company's strategic outlook, Subramaniam M, Sales & Business Development Director – GCC, remarked, "In line with our growth strategy, this new order addition in Oman, to our already strong O&M order book provides annuity income which helps us with improved cash flow and better revenue predictability. We thank Nama Water Services for their continued confidence in our capabilities and technical competence which has been key to winning this repeat order."

The contract not only underscores VA TECH WABAG Ltd.'s expertise and reliability in the domain of desalination plant operations but also reinforces its foothold in the Omani market, setting the stage for sustained growth and enhanced service delivery in the region.
