Uno Minda's ₹210 Crore Investment Fuels Maharashtra's Industrial Growth.
Uno Minda is set to invest ₹210 crore in a new aluminium die-casting facility in Maharashtra to keep pace with the surging demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in India. The automotive components giant announced the greenfield expansion on Thursday, highlighting its commitment to supporting the burgeoning EV market.
Phased Investment to Boost EV Component Production
The substantial investment will be rolled out in phases over the next five years, funded through a blend of internal accruals and debt, the company confirmed. The initial phase of the plant is slated to begin commercial operations by the second quarter of the 2027 financial year. This first stage will add a significant 3,629 metric tonnes per annum to Uno Minda's casting component capacity.
This strategic move is specifically designed to meet the escalating need for critical casting components, especially for electric two-wheelers (e-2Ws) and electric four-wheelers (e-4Ws), solidifying Uno Minda's position in the evolving automotive landscape.
