As part of the investment, ₹75,000 crore will be allocated to renewable energy projects, including the development of 10,000 megawatts (MW) of capacity across Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Jodhpur districts. This includes 6,000 MW of solar power and 4,000 MW of hybrid energy. Additionally, Tata Power plans to build a 2,000 MW solar module manufacturing facility in Jodhpur with an investment of ₹2,000 crore.
The company also intends to modernize the state's grid infrastructure, committing ₹20,000 crore to distribution and ₹10,000 crore to transmission projects to reduce energy losses and improve power quality. Furthermore, Tata Power is exploring the development of a nuclear power plant and will invest ₹1,000 crore to establish 1 lakh EV charging stations across the state. The MoU also includes a plan to install rooftop solar power systems for 10 lakh households under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
Tata Power CEO and MD Praveer Sinha expressed the company’s commitment to supporting Rajasthan's energy goals, praising the state government’s efforts to position Rajasthan as an energy-efficient and future-ready state. The project is expected to create over 28,000 direct jobs and significantly impact the region’s socio-economic landscape.
Tata Power has already commissioned 1 gigawatt (GW) of solar projects, 185 MW of wind projects, and 130 MW of rooftop solar installations in the state.
