Tamil Nadu Strengthens Aerospace and Defence Industry with ₹1,600-Crore MoUs.

In a significant boost to Tamil Nadu’s aerospace and defence sector, the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd signed four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with private companies, bringing a total investment of ₹1,600 crore and creating approximately 1,900 jobs, Industries Minister TRB Rajaa said in a social media post.

Under the agreements, PMI Engineering Exports will invest ₹500 crore to set up a precision aerospace manufacturing facility, generating 1,000 job opportunities. The plant will produce flight-critical components for civil aviation and defence, including high-precision 5-axis CNC-machined parts with micron-level tolerances, as well as components in titanium alloys, inconel, and nickel-based superalloys.

Meanwhile, SIMVAYU signed an MoU to establish a high-tech aviation training and simulation centre in Chennai. With an investment of ₹600 crore and the creation of 350 jobs upon full implementation, the centre will feature Level-D Full Flight Simulators for Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The facility, a DGCA-compliant Approved Training Organisation, will provide aerospace certification, simulator engineering, R&D, and drone simulation services.

These MoUs reflect Tamil Nadu’s ongoing push to strengthen its aerospace and defence ecosystem, attract high-tech investments, and generate skilled employment opportunities in the sector.
