Tamil Nadu Petroproducts Pauses Manali Plant Production Due to Propylene Shortfall.

Tamil Nadu Petro Products Ltd has temporarily halted operations at its Propylene Oxide (PO) plant in Manali as of Tuesday, following a disruption in the supply of propylene, a critical raw material.

The company, which manufactures products such as Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB), caustic soda and propylene oxide, informed stock exchanges that the supply disruption is linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. According to the statement, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has directed refineries and oil marketing companies to suspend supplies of crude-based petroleum products to downstream industries and prioritise LPG production.

Citing these developments, the company has declared the shutdown a force majeure event. It added that the financial and operational impact of the disruption cannot be assessed at this stage.
