Sembcorp Secures 150 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Project.

Sembcorp Industries announced recently that its subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra Private Ltd, has been awarded a 150 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project by state-run SJVN Ltd.

The build-own-operate project is part of SJVN’s 6,000 MWh tender for assured peak power from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected renewable energy projects integrated with energy storage systems.

To meet the contracted capacity, Sembcorp will install approximately 750 MW of combined solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Subject to the execution of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN, the project is expected to achieve commercial operation within 24 months of signing. Funding will come from a mix of internal resources and debt financing.

The project reinforces Sembcorp’s commitment to advancing dispatchable renewable energy solutions and supporting India’s grid stability and peak power requirements.
