Proofpoint, a leading cybersecurity and compliance company, has announced a significant expansion in India, with plans to deliver its human-centric cybersecurity platform via a local data centre in Mumbai. Initial offerings from the new facility are slated to begin in the third quarter of 2025.

According to the company's CEO, this strategic move is a direct response to India's evolving data compliance regulations. By providing its solutions through a sovereign data centre within India, Proofpoint aims to help organizations meet local data residency requirements and strengthen their cybersecurity posture.

The new infrastructure will operate as a hybrid model, leveraging both co-located data centres and public cloud services. The company expects a phased availability of services over the next three months, gradually rolling out its offerings from the Mumbai hub. This initiative underscores Proofpoint's commitment to the Indian market and its dedication to providing localized, compliant cybersecurity solutions.
