PNGRB Approves ₹7,000 Crore LPG Pipeline Expansion Across Six States

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has authorised nearly 1,800 km of new LPG pipeline infrastructure across six states at an estimated investment of ₹7,000 crore. The projects will be developed by GAIL (India) Ltd to strengthen LPG supply security and reduce dependence on road transportation.

The network comprises three major corridors: the 556-km Cherlapally–Nagpur pipeline, the 611-km Jhansi–Sitarganj pipeline, and the 633-km Shikrapur–Goa & Hubli pipeline. The projects will pass through Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka and Goa.

Once completed, India's PNGRB-authorised common-carrier LPG pipeline network will expand from approximately 7,700 km to 9,500 km, an increase of nearly 23.5%. The projects are expected to improve supply resilience, reduce LPG tanker movement, lower logistics costs and enhance road safety.
