Hyderabad: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has planned yet another power plant with a capacity of 4,000 MW unit in Visakhapatnam district with an estimated cost of Rs 23,000 crore.
The company has cleared the State Government's concurrence for purchasing and availing 50 per cent of the power generated at a tariff decided by the Central Electricity Regulatory Authority (CERC).
The State Government has identified land at Pudimadaka near Anakapalle, the second biggest city in the district.
The State Government gave its in-principle approval for the NTPC proposal in November 2010.
