New concrete road between Ambedkar Circle-Bunts Hostel Junction to be opened for traffic.
Mayor Mahabala Marla said recently that the new concrete road between Ambedkar Circle and Bunts Hostel Junction will be thrown open to traffic soon.
Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of performing 'guddali pooja' to two road works at Mallikatta and Kadri, the Mayor said that there would be no formal inaugural ceremony for opening the new concrete road. The road may be thrown open to public soon, said Mr. Marla.
The Mayor said that the tar road between Kamadhenu Gas Agency and Nanthoor Junction on Kadri-Nanthoor Junction would also be upgraded as concrete road shortly at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.85 crore.
He said that the tar road from Mallikatta Junction to Kadri Manjunatha temple would also be made as concrete road at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.85 crore. When upgraded this road would not have overhead electricity lines. They would be laid underground, he said.
Concrete roads are best suited to the city due to heavy rainfall, Mr. Marla whose term as Mayor would end in another one month, said.
