Monarch Tractors, a U.S.-based company specializing in driver-optional electric tractors, is considering setting up a manufacturing unit in Telangana. The management team recently met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the United States to discuss this potential investment, as well as the expansion of their existing research and development (R&D) facility in Hyderabad.
Chief Minister Reddy is currently leading a high-level delegation in the U.S. to attract investment to Telangana. Monarch Tractors, which has operated an R&D center in Hyderabad since 2023, is looking to expand this facility and create additional high-tech jobs in the region. The company also plans to establish an autonomous tractor testing facility in Hyderabad to support its R&D efforts.
Praveen Penmetsa, CEO of Monarch Tractors, expressed enthusiasm about the discussions: “We were delighted to meet Chief Minister Reddy and other officials to discuss our commitment to innovation in
Telangana. Our R&D center in Hyderabad has played a crucial role in developing our advanced driver-optional smart electric tractors. We see significant potential in expanding our operations in Telangana, which would bring more manufacturing and job opportunities to the region.”
The Monarch team presented a letter of intent to explore the feasibility of setting up a manufacturing facility in Telangana. Monarch Tractors is known for its groundbreaking autonomous, driver-optional electric tractors, which use advanced technologies like electrification, automation, and AI to address labor shortages and enhance productivity and sustainability in agriculture.
Chief Minister Reddy welcomed the move, stating: “We are committed to attracting high-tech, environmentally friendly companies and are excited about the possibility of Monarch Tractors expanding their presence in Telangana. We are positioning the state as a leader in autonomous and electric vehicle technology, and Monarch Tractors aligns perfectly with this vision.”
