"Minister Peddireddi Inaugurates 50-Bed Regional Hospital in Chittoor's Punganur"
Minister for Energy and Forests, P. Ramachandra Reddy, inaugurated the newly upgraded Regional Hospital buildings in Punganur on Wednesday. This transformation saw the existing community health center being elevated to the status of a regional hospital, thanks to the infusion of new infrastructure worth ₹6 crore.
During the inauguration, Minister Ramachandra Reddy underscored the significant attention that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed towards the fields of education and healthcare. He particularly highlighted the introduction of English as a medium of instruction within the education sector, enabling students to confidently face fierce competition at both the national and international levels.
Minister Ramachandra Reddy praised the remarkable achievement of the YSRCP government, emphasizing that no other Chief Minister in the country had embarked on establishing 16 medical colleges simultaneously. He also commended the government's unwavering commitment to serving the people during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, the Minister acknowledged the generous contribution of ₹1 crore from Rajampeta MP Mithun Reddy for the establishment of an oxygen plant at the Punganur hospital, a noteworthy addition to the healthcare infrastructure.
Minister Ramachandra Reddy also seized the opportunity to shed light on the historical context, mentioning that the Punganur region had been under the influence of a single family for three decades, but regrettably, development was lacking. In doing so, he indirectly criticized TDP leader N. Amarnath Reddy.
The Minister also brought to attention the unfortunate cessation of construction on two crucial reservoirs in the western mandals by the previous Chandrababu Naidu government.
In response to the acute drinking water crisis in the rural areas of the Punganur Assembly constituency, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government has taken the initiative to set up more than 100 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants. These installations are poised to significantly alleviate the drinking water scarcity for the region's rural population.
Concluding the event, Minister Ramachandra Reddy proceeded to inaugurate the 50-bed hospital at the Sadum mandal headquarters within the Punganur constituency.
Rajampeta MP P.V. Mithun Reddy shared the State government's vision to provide tap water to every household in the constituency and revealed plans to attract more industries to the western parts of the Rayalaseema region, thereby generating employment opportunities for the youth.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister K. Narayanaswamy, Collector S. Shanmohan, senior officials, and prominent YSRCP leaders.
