Maharashtra supports plan to develop world-class Medcity in Navi Mumbai with international partners.

The Maharashtra government, Cleveland Clinic, Brookfield Asset Management and Arodhan Health City have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop the Navi Mumbai International MediCity (NMIMC), a large-scale healthcare and medical research hub planned near Navi Mumbai.

Under the proposed partnership, Cleveland Clinic will act as the anchor institution for the project, contributing its expertise in quaternary care, medical education, research, innovation, and patient-centric healthcare delivery. The initiative is expected to attract around $1.2 billion in investment and generate more than 10,000 direct jobs, according to a statement on the development.

The Maharashtra government will facilitate the collaboration and assist the consortium in securing the necessary approvals and regulatory clearances in line with applicable policies.

The NMIMC is envisioned as a global healthcare and medical tourism destination, integrating advanced clinical services, research, and education. The project will be developed on approximately 250 acres of land located adjacent to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.
