KMF Inaugurates Nandini Outlet at Majestic Metro Station, Plans Seven More in Two Months.
The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), under its popular Nandini brand, has officially launched its first outlet at the Majestic Metro Station in Bengaluru. The new parlor was inaugurated on Friday by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The launch marks a significant step for KMF, which also opened two other outlets on the same day at the Konanakunte Cross and Sir M. Visvesvaraya (Central College) stations.
Strategic Expansion into Metro Stations
This move follows a directive from Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar in June, who urged KMF to participate in the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) tender for kiosks. The directive came amid public criticism that the state government was favoring a rival brand, Amul, which had been the sole
applicant for the tender at the time.
KMF has committed to opening the remaining seven planned parlors within the next two months. This expansion is part of a broader strategy, as KMF has already established 175 parlors across the state over the past five years.
Discussions for More Locations
In an interview with businessline, KMF's Managing Director and CEO, Shivaswamy B, confirmed that the cooperative is in talks with BMRCL to secure rights for additional metro station locations, indicating a strong push to further integrate the Nandini brand into the city's public transit network.
