The first phase of Kishanganj railway underbridge, was inaugurated by Union Minister Harsh Vardhan recently.
The 1.5-km tunnel constructed below a railway line in central Delhi was developed by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation at a cost of ₹41.43 crore with the help of Northern Railway, North Delhi Power Limited, Delhi Jal board and BSES, the corporation said in a statement.
North body Mayor, Adesh Gupta said that the project, started in 2008, took 27 months to complete and involved the shifting of 200 shops of Land and Development Office and Delhi Development Authority as well as transformers, substations, and five religious structures.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Vardhan thanked the Centre for its support lent to the project.
