Karnataka to Invest ₹1,000 Crore in Innovation Clusters Across Mangaluru, Mysuru, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi.
The Karnataka government recently announced a ₹1,000 crore initiative to establish innovation clusters in Mangaluru, Mysuru, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi, aiming to drive tech-led growth across the state beyond its capital city. The announcement was made during the opening of CII Innoverge 2025, held at The Taj West End under the theme “Make in India, Developed India & Digital India.”
In his keynote address, Priyank Kharge, Minister for Electronics, IT & BT, and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, highlighted Karnataka’s significant contribution to India’s technology landscape, stating the state accounts for 40% of the country’s R&D talent and 30% of all global capability centres. “Karnataka has evolved into one of the most disruptive innovation hubs in the world. We are not just an investment destination but the global knowledge and skill capital,” he said.
Kharge also announced plans to launch a ₹100 crore fund at the upcoming Bengaluru Tech Summit to identify India’s top 50 AI companies and showcase 20,000 startups under the Future Makers track, further cementing Karnataka’s position as a leader in innovation and technology.
