"Jindal Steel is set to double its structural steel production capacity at the Raigarh facility."
Jindal Steel recently announced plans to significantly expand its structural steel manufacturing capacity at its Raigarh facility, aiming to double annual output to 2 million tonnes.
In a statement, the Naveen Jindal Group company said it will scale up its existing structural steel capacity from 1.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 2.4 MTPA by mid-2028 as part of the expansion initiative.
Structural steel products, known for their high strength, durability and ductility, are a key requirement for major infrastructure projects such as bridges, transmission towers and large commercial buildings. Demand for these products has been rising, driven by government-led infrastructure programmes as well as increased private sector investment.
The expansion is expected to strengthen Jindal Steel’s ability to cater to growing domestic demand for structural steel in India’s infrastructure and construction sectors.
