Infosys Pulls out of Technocity Project.
IT major Infosys has pulled out of the Technocity project in Thiruvananthapuram for 'non cooperation' and for failing to provide infrastructure.
Technopark authorities have rejected the charge stating that the company was provided all facilities to start construction in the allotted land.
Infosys had signed an MoU in 2012. Refuting the allegations, P H Kurian, Principal Secretary, IT Department, Government of Kerala, said that, on March 27 2013, Technopark had handed over 49.84 acres of land (notified as Special Economic Zone).
'Even when Technopark has provided all basic infrastructure facilities required for construction, we haven’t received from Infosys the building plans or any explanation on this delay so far. This is a clear violation of the terms and conditions mentioned in the MoU,' K G Girish Babu, Chief Executive Officer, Technopark, said in a statement.
He added that Infosys was keen on expanding the company’s phase II campus coming up near the Technopark and said that the company had never expressed dissatisfaction with regard to infrastructure.
