Indian Poultry Alliance to Invest ₹600 Crore in Two Greenfield Processing Units.

Indian Poultry Alliance (IPA), the poultry subsidiary of Allana Group, is expanding its footprint with two new greenfield poultry processing units in Kishanganj, Bihar, and Zaheerabad, Telangana. The company plans to invest ₹300 crore in each facility as part of its growth strategy.

In addition to setting up these units, IPA is also looking to expand in South India through partnerships with existing industry players. The company recently acquired Belagavi-based Kwality Animal Feeds Pvt Ltd and is scaling up its processing capacity.

Moiz Chunawala, Managing Director of IPA, stated that by the end of 2025, the company expects to achieve a processing capacity of 1.5 lakh birds per day. As part of a broader backward integration plan, IPA will invest in breeder farms, hatcheries, feed mills, and soya extruding units while also collaborating with regional integrators and breeders.

“There is a huge demand for high-quality poultry processing facilities and hygienically slaughtered chicken. Given our expertise in handling proteins, this expansion aligns with our vision to strengthen the domestic poultry industry,” Chunawala said.

He highlighted the steady rise in poultry consumption in India, which has grown at approximately 8% annually for over a decade. "We are confident that this growth will remain consistent and may even exceed 8%," he added.

IPA also plans to establish a retail brand, aiming to launch around 4,000 protein stores by 2030 to market fresh chilled processed poultry products. Currently, the company operates around 8-10 stores in the Belagavi and Goa regions, following the acquisition of Kwality Feeds. The primary focus remains on the B2B segment, catering to quick-service restaurants (QSRs) and food service companies, with increasing interest from online protein retailers and quick commerce platforms.

The upcoming greenfield units will feature advanced rendering plants to convert poultry waste into byproducts, which will be utilized in IPA’s existing extruded pet food facility. The company is also incorporating new technology to enhance sustainability, including equipment designed to reduce water consumption by 30%.

While IPA's immediate focus is on the domestic market, the company is also exploring export opportunities. "India has immense potential in poultry exports. We will evaluate value-added products or byproducts that can fetch better prices internationally," Chunawala said.

With these investments, IPA aims to strengthen its presence in India’s growing poultry sector while ensuring world-class hygiene and quality standards.
