India Launches First Indigenous Water-Soluble Fertilizer Pilot Plant in Nagpur.

India has achieved a milestone in agricultural innovation with the completion of its first indigenous water-soluble fertilizer (WSF) pilot plant in Nagpur. The development is seen as a crucial step toward reducing the country’s dependence on imported specialty fertilizers.

The plant’s Phase I was inaugurated on Monday by Anupam Agnihotri, Director of the Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC). The facility, developed with support from JNARDDC-funded research, was completed nearly a month ahead of schedule, highlighting the efficiency and commitment of the project team.

The pilot plant is expected to pave the way for large-scale production of water-soluble fertilizers in India, boosting self-reliance in the agricultural sector and supporting sustainable farming practices.
