IKEA Targets 100% EV Logistics in India by 2025.

As the rise of e-commerce and home deliveries increases the strain on the environment, Swedish furniture giant IKEA is taking steps to reduce its carbon footprint by transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs) for its deliveries across India. The company aims to achieve 100% EV logistics by 2025.

Currently, IKEA's EV usage for deliveries stands at 88-90%, with the company steadily closing the gap. "The momentum is picking up, though it started slowly," said Saiba Suri, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager at IKEA India, in an interview with Businessline. "As we expand into new geographies and markets, our goal is to begin with 100% EVs from day one, setting clear expectations for our service partners and ourselves."

With four stores across India, IKEA handles a high volume of shipments across 62 markets, making its commitment to sustainable logistics a key part of its expansion strategy.
