Andhra Pradesh Clears ₹2.08 Lakh Crore Investment Package Across 25 Industrial Projects

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has approved 25 industrial projects with a combined investment of around ₹2.08 lakh crore, with the proposals expected to generate 21,627 direct employment opportunities across the state.

The approvals were granted during the 20th SIPB meeting, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati. A significant share of the proposed investment is concentrated in the data-centre sector, with three projects planned in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli accounting for approximately ₹1.75 lakh crore, or more than 84% of the total investment.

Among the largest proposals is ReNew AP Green Data Center, which plans to invest ₹85,200 crore in Anakapalli, creating around 1,880 jobs. Data Center Holdings India has proposed a ₹58,743-crore facility in Visakhapatnam, expected to provide 1,250 jobs, while AM Intelligence Labs will invest ₹31,387 crore in Visakhapatnam and generate approximately 1,000 jobs.

Other significant investments include Waaree Clean Energy Solutions’ ₹15,000-crore project in Kakinada, expected to create 1,500 jobs, and Agastya Green Energy’s ₹7,799.96-crore project in Kurnool, with around 1,000 employment opportunities.

Several additional projects will strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy, manufacturing, mining and industrial sectors. Coromandel International will invest ₹2,125 crore in Srikakulam, while Akshat Green Tech and Jackson Green Renewable have proposed investments of ₹1,600 crore and ₹1,533 crore respectively.

In terms of employment generation, AIL Dixon India’s ₹450-crore electronics project at Kopparthi in Kadapa stands out, with a commitment to create 7,000 jobs, the highest among the approved projects. VPR Mining Infrastructure’s ₹500-crore industrial park in Nellore is expected to create another 2,000 jobs.

The government is also encouraging investments in emerging sectors such as green ammonia, lithium batteries and robotics. Munoth Lithium Battery plans to invest ₹500 crore in Tirupati, creating 240 jobs.

Naidu has instructed officials to promote industrialisation beyond major cities by developing projects in rural areas. He also directed authorities to complete the remaining 37 MSME parks by September, with the broader objective of establishing industrial parks across all 175 Assembly constituencies.

Water and Logistics Infrastructure

Addressing concerns over water consumption by upcoming data centres, Naidu said the proposed facilities in North Andhra would require approximately 3.5 TMC of water. He said water for industries in Visakhapatnam would be supplied through gravity flow from the Polavaram Left Canal.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to complete Moolapeta Port by December and integrate it with modern logistics infrastructure, warehouses and cold-chain facilities. Improved road, rail and port connectivity will also be developed to help agricultural and horticultural products from Rayalaseema reach international markets.
