Three Infrastructure Projects Secure Stage-II Forest Clearances in Uttarakhand and Punjab

Three infrastructure projects across Uttarakhand and Punjab have secured Stage-II forest clearances, marking significant regulatory milestones for road connectivity and irrigation development.

On October 30, 2026, Stage-II forest clearance was granted for two road infrastructure projects in Uttarakhand: the Chirakhan–Talli Pokhari road project and the Panjiyana–Ghandiyal road extension. These approvals represent important steps towards facilitating road construction and improving connectivity in the state's hilly regions.

Separately, on October 28, 2026, the Nard–Missewal–Chikna lift irrigation scheme in Punjab received Stage-II forest clearance, advancing the project's statutory approval process. The scheme is intended to support irrigation infrastructure and improve agricultural water availability.

Stage-II forest clearance represents final approval under the applicable forest diversion process, subject to stipulated conditions and compliance requirements.

Together, these clearances remove key regulatory hurdles for the three projects and support their progression towards implementation, subject to remaining statutory requirements and project-specific execution schedules.
