IKEA Parent Ingka Group Makes Maiden Investment in India’s Renewable Energy Sector.

Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, has made its first renewable energy investment in India by acquiring a 100 per cent stake in a 210 MWp subsidy-free solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The Group has committed a total of ₹10 billion towards expanding its renewable energy portfolio in India, marking a major step in its global sustainability strategy.

According to the company, the Bikaner solar project has achieved ready-to-build status, with construction set to begin soon. The plant is expected to commence operations by December 2026, contributing to India’s clean energy transition and Ingka Group’s goal of achieving 100 per cent renewable energy across its operations.
