GVK eyeing next phase of growth in airport vertical.
As the magnificent Rs. 12,500-crore T2 terminal at the Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport gets ready for commissioning soon, GVK Power and Infrastructure Ltd. is strategising for the next phase of growth in the airport vertical including expansion of Bangalore airport and setting up of GVK Skycity in Mumbai.
GVK Reddy, Chairman of GVK group, said, 'It is extremely heartening to see this project in this final shape in spite of several challenges in the course of execution of the T2 terminal.'
Refraining to get into the tough times they passed through in executing the project, he said that they are looking at now consolidating their airport vertical encompassing the Mumbai international airport, Bangalore international airport and its projects in Indonesia.
Interacting with newspersons on the eve of inauguration of the airport by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he said the immediate focus is on commissioning the operations in the T2 terminal within four weeks by which time the entire operations will be ready.
