"Gogoro Partners with HPCL to Establish Nationwide Battery Swapping Stations in India"

Nasdaq-listed battery swapping company, Gogoro, has announced the signing of an initial agreement with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) to establish battery swapping stations nationwide in the coming years. Under this partnership, Gogoro will spearhead the development of an extensive battery swapping infrastructure tailored for electric two-wheelers. These swapping stations will be rolled out at HPCL's retail outlets throughout the country, leveraging HPCL's extensive network of over 21,000 retail outlets.

Horace Luke, the founder and CEO of Gogoro, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, "We are announcing a partnership with HPCL to roll out thousands of Gogoro battery swapping stations across its retail outlets throughout the country in the coming years." He noted that India is in the early stages of a significant transformation in its urban two-wheeler transportation system towards electric vehicles, and battery swapping plays a pivotal role in achieving widespread adoption. Luke also highlighted Gogoro's commitment to collaborating with the Indian business community and both national and local governments to establish an open, accessible, and scalable battery swapping and electric vehicle ecosystem.

Amit Garg, Director of Marketing at HPCL, underscored the joint effort between HPCL and Gogoro to develop a comprehensive battery swapping infrastructure for two-wheeler vehicles, with the goal of promoting and sustaining a leading electric vehicle ecosystem in India. The partnership seeks to provide safe, clean, and readily available electric vehicle solutions across India's cities.

Gogoro, with a track record of nearly 500 million battery swaps, brings a platform that HPCL can adopt and replicate, further contributing to the expansion of the electric mobility landscape in India.
